Welcome to our events calendar. Below you will find all upcoming Wise & Well events that are eligible for registration. Scroll through our events and click on “Register” to sign up. Most events are free, some have a small fee attached. Also, be sure to choose whether you will attend in-person, or virtually.

African American Genealogy: Beyond the Basics – Finding Your Roots Genealogy Series

Explore the library’s digital resources, popular genealogy databases (Ancestory.com), intendent record repositories (Freedmen’s Bureau), and federal and state government websites. Discuss how slave narratives, census records, historical photographs, and other rich sources of information provide broader context and specific details relating to African American family histories. Presented by librarians from the African American Department, Enoch Pratt Free Library/State Library Resource Center.
